This section gives you information about bans, including the types of bans Habbo issue. The examples given are just examples - and don't constitute a complete list . In this section, we also bust some myths about Habbo bans!

Why have I been banned?

If you can't get into Habbo and you got a message window saying that you have been banned from Habbo, then you should wait for the ban to expire. Most bans are two hours in length, although some may be longer depending on the circumstances that caused your ban.

Moderators are trained professionals and do not ban accounts for no reason. Habbo staff can check the reason why you have been banned and we will know exactly what has happened. As such, we very rarely have any reason to remove a ban from an account.

You can email Player Support using the Habbo Help Tool to appeal a ban that is more than 7 days in length, and we will review the situation. However this does not guarantee that your ban will be lifted! Remember, we can see exactly what happened, so do not bluff or lie about how you got banned - if you do, we won't lift the ban from your account!

What have I been banned for?

Bans placed on accounts fall into different categories. The following explains what each ban message means:

Disruption or Scripting Ban

These are bans placed on players who are either disrupting the game for others by doing such things as blocking doors, flooding the screen or raiding rooms and also for players who are engaging in scripting. Bans in this category range from 2 hours to permanent, based on the severity of the problem and how many times you have previously been banned for the same issue.

Sexually Explicit Behaviour Ban

These bans are placed on players who are engaging in cybersex, explicit sexual discussion and requests for sexual contact on webcam or those who give out pornographic website addresses. Bans in this category range from 2 hours to permanent, based on the severity of the problem and how many times you have previously been banned for the same issue.

Personal Identifying Information Ban

These bans are placed on people who ask for, or give away, information which could make them locatable in the real world (telephone numbers, home address, town name + name of school) or players who are caught trying to arrange an offline meeting with someone. Bans in this category range from 12 hours to permanent, based on the severity of the problem and how many times you have previously been banned for the same issue.

Harassment Ban

These bans are placed on people who are harassing or bullying others. We define harassment and bullying as one person being extremely personally abusive to another over a lengthy period of time. Players who are arguing with one another will normally be asked to put each other on ignore if they can’t get along rather than banned for harassment. Bans in this category range from 2 hours to permanent, based on the severity of the problem and how many times you have previously been banned for the same issue.

Hate Speech Ban

These bans are placed on people who use abusive and unpleasant terms about someone’s ethnicity, sexuality, nationality or religion. Bans in this category range from 4 hours to 30 days, based on the severity of the problem and how many times you have previously been banned for the same issue.

Scamming Ban

These bans are placed on players who advertise free credit scams, give out scamsite URLs, attempt password phishing or other tricks designed to steal another player’s account. Bans in this category range from 7 days to permanent, based on the severity of the problem.

Terms & Conditions Ban

Bans in this category are placed on players who admit to taking part in illegal activity (hacking, attempting to share child pornography, credit card fraud, adults engaging minors in sexual discussion, attempting to use the service to sell drugs etc) as well as players who breach our Terms & Conditions by attempting to sell or transfer their Habbo account, sell Habbo furni for cash or own a retro Hotel. Most bans in this category are permanent bans.

Inappropriate Name/Room/Group Ban

Bans in this category are for the creation of Habbo accounts, rooms or groups where the name is inappropriate because it is abusive to other players, contains swearing or sexual terms. Bans in this category range from 2 hours to permanent bans for inappropriate Habbo names.

Only you should have access to your account.

If your friend/brother/sister or anyone else has got your account banned, then they must have had your password.

We are always warning our users not to allow other people on their Habbo accounts. As your account is your responsibility, you should take more care over it. If you've been banned because you let someone else on your account - it's still your responsibility.

Can I move furni from my banned account to my new account?

If your account has been banned, you cannot retrieve the furni or credits that were on the account, and they cannot be transferred to a new account.
