Envy has been writing lyrics since she was in her teens and, after scrapping her way through Manchester's battle scenes, she is now linking up with the Black Piranhas, producer Dego Brown and ex-So-Solid member Face. She has even opened for Kano and G-Unit.

Tongue Twister was a break out hit and now she is releasing Friday Night - a song about how the devil drink can turn even the most butters of people into Prince Charming.

Envy bases her songs and lyrical wry cracks at the sorry state of romantic entanglements including how some girls can out-sleaze horndog guys.

But it hasn't been all play for Envy, she is studying for a degree in Media and setting up her own label China Bulldog.

With distinctive and malleable vocals, stripped raw style and the ability to traverse the rap and dance scenes, Envy is a real one to watch.
