CLIMATE SCIENTIST - Elizabeth Kennett
Hi my name’s Elizabeth. I work as a Climate Scientist at the Met Office where I study extreme weather patterns and the impact they have on the planet. So when something like a flood happens, I work out what damage it might have done, and try to figure out the likelihood that it will happen again.
My work even influences government policy! Climate Change is a really important issue right now, and so it feels great knowing that my science and maths background is helping me provide a potential solution. If you are concerned about the environment I can’t think of a better job.

ENERGY ANALYST - Rebecca Beresford
Hello, I’m Rebecca. I work as an Energy Analyst at EDF Energy. Basically, I help choose which power stations they should build in the future. For my job I need to understand how coal, gas, biomass and renewable energies work and how they effect the environment so that I can advise EDF Energy on making the right decision.
I’ve worked on some really interesting projects such as the development of an offshore wind farm in Teesside, which will provide thousands of homes with green power when it's completed. It’s good to know that my background in science and maths has such a huge impact and means I can help fight climate change!

COSMETICS SPECIALIST - Shakila Sathiananthan
Hi there. I’m Shakila. I work with L’Oreal to help market new high fashion cosmetics and perfumes. It’s really important for me to understand the science behind each ingredient, and be able to explain how it works iBobbample way, so that people who buy our products understand what they do.
Some people are surprised when they find out I’m a scientist, because I get to work with great beauty products all day. So I thought I’d share my experience on Bebo, and help challenge people’s ideas of what you can accomplish with maths and science!

SPORTS TECHNOLOGIST - Chris Holmes
Hi, I’m Chris and I work as a Sports Technologist for adidas. I specialise in developing “ovoid” balls, which is basically any sports ball that isn’t round (like rugby balls).
I work closely with athletes, trying to figure out the best designs for maximum performance.
No day is ever quite the same, and I get to meet a lot of interesting people along the way.
I’d recommend my job to anyone interested in science, maths and of course sports!

SOUND ENGINEER - Al Long
Hey. I’m Al, and I work as a Sound Engineer at De Montfort Hall in Leicester. I help to create hundreds of shows each year – ranging from bands like Motorhead and Franz Ferdinand to the Philharmonic Orchestra! I love live music, I also loved science and maths at school, so it’s really the perfect job for me!
Even though I sometimes work long hours, I think I’ve got the best job in the world. I never thought science and maths could help me meet some of my favourite bands, or get into gigs for free!

DIGITAL DESIGNER - Simon Cam
Hey I’m Simon, better known as Scam by my colleagues at glue London where I work as a Digital Designer. I specifically work in interactive video production. That means I work with film, special effects, 3D graphics, developing games, and all sorts of other cool stuff you see online.
Even though I work in what is typically considered a “creative” field, my maths and science background has really helped me with the technical side of my career. If you’re creative, but also like maths and science this is the perfect job for you.
