It doesn't have to happen!

Help! I have a knife and I don't know what to do with it!

Don't panic! Speak to a responsible adult in your family or extended family, who will give you advice on the best way to dispose of it. They should safely get rid of it for you, if you don't feel happy or comfortable with that, then there are occasional Knife amnesties at Police Stations where you can drop knives in Special bins outside the station. If you don't find one, hand it into the Police.

Too many lives have been lost from Knives already. Knife crime is not only happening in the Capital but also all across the world.

Already, over 20 Teenagers have been killed in the Capital, the majority of them stabbed to death, and who knows, these could have even been your friends right here on Habbo Hotel. It's high time we put a stop to Knife Crime together, Why? Because we can do it together, and it doesn't have to happen.

In many schools across the UK, there are now Metal Detectors, Police Officers and Wand Detectors that are stopping Knives slip into School. This is for the safety of you and other Pupils, and new laws state that this is an entirely acceptable thing for them to do, remember, it's for the best.

Too many lives have been claimed from Knife Crime, it's about time it stopped today... Help us to put a stop to it... Because we can. :-)

I use my Knife for protection against other Knife users.

A knife user is more likely to be threatened by you if they know you're carrying a knife, too. There is no such thing as a Knife fight and someone in the equasion will always get hurt. Knife Fights cannot happen, as by the time you have put down your defences and reached into your pocket for the Knife, the other person could have already had warning and stabbed you.

Don't put yourself in danger. Drop it.

At the moment, the rules and laws on Knives are very specific. We have outlined them here for you... Did you know it's Illegal to carry a knife in public without good reason?

- Under 18's cannot buy Knives

- If you carry a knife or another harmful weapon in Public, you could be arrested by the Police.

- New Government actions have said that anyone aged 16 or 17, caught in Posession of a knife can be legally prosecuted, not just cautioned!

When Knife Crime happens, it is important to remember that the victim's family will be changed forever. There will always be the gap in their family that should have been filled with 1,000 hopes and dreams of the future, but were instead taken away by the sharp blade of a Knife.

Not only does it change and effect the Family's life, but it also effects the attackers life, they will be caught and sent to Prison for murder or attempted murder...

Life is for giving, not taking.

- If you are under 16 and are caught carrying a Knife in School, you'll get Detention and a Training order.

- The Maximum fine for an adult caught carrying a Knife is 4 years in prison and a fine of up to £5,000.

- You can be searched by the Police if they suspect you are carrying a harmful, threatening weapon.

- Since May 2007, Schools also have the right to stop and search students they suspect to be carrying any weapon. This includes with Wands and Arching detectors.

But if I hand it in they'll know I had it and arrest me!

The Police will only arrest you if they suspect you are going to use it, or think it could be a harm to the Public. Therefore, if you hand it into them, you are being honest, and they have no reason to doubt your honesty.

They know that when the Knife is in their posession, and has been disposed of, you can't use it anymore. So they have no reason to arrest you. Feel confident in them, they're there to help.
