About Ryuk
Ryuk is a Death God who tricked his boss into giving him two Death Notes. Out of boredom he drops one of them on Earth, and takes to following around the boy (Light Yagami) who found it. He takes a lot of interest in the travails of humans, and has a strong liking of video games and in particular, apples. Ryuk has a fairly humanoid appearance. His skin is gray/a purple-ish color and his limbs are abnormally long. He has bulging yellow eyes with black irises (red in the anime).
