Indie started in the 80's where The Stone Roses and The Smiths brung to England the alternative rocky music. In the 90's Indie music spread like wildfire, going global. Indie music had been labeled as Alternative music, with bands leading such as Nirvana. 2000 was the year everyone heard about indie music. Band such as Maximo Park, The Wombats, Foals, Maccabees, The Killers, Kaiser Cheifs, Radiohead. 80's&90's kids created Indie!:)
