Around 79 percent of the population use the Internet. Finland had around 1.52 million broadband Internet connections by the end of June 2007 or around 287 per 1,000 inhabitants. All Finnish schools and public libraries have Internet and a few computers. Most residents have a mobile phone. It's used mostly for contact and value-added services rare.

Our capital city, Helsinki is relatively small and intimate but lively and bustling. Helsinki is popularly called the daughter of the Baltic. Helsinki also has popular cruiseferry links with Stockholm and hydrofoil and catamaran links to Tallinn. Silja, Viking and Tallink are the biggest ferry operators. Helsinki is also the home of the Linnanmäki amusement park, which rollercoasters and many other rides, including the world's first Intamin ZacSpin rollercoaster.

Finland is a country of thousands of lakes and islands; Bobbalakes (larger than 500 m²) and Bobbaislands to be precise.[20] One of these lakes, Saimaa, is the fifth largest in Europe. The Finnish landscape is mostly flat with few hills and its highest point, the Halti at 1,324 meters, is found in the extreme north of Lapland at the border between Finland and Norway.

Most recently, the Finnish hard rock/heavy metal music band Lordi won the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with a record 292 points, giving Finland its first ever victory, and the band Nightwish has sold world wide with their album Dark Passion Play. As of 2008, Finland has, according to some surveys, the most heavy metal bands in the world per-capita. Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, one of the largest open-air heavy metal music festivals in the world, is held annually in Kaisaniemi, Helsinki.

Finland, officially the Republic of Finland (Finnish: Suomi), is a Nordlc country situated in Northern Europe. It has borders with Sweden to the west, Russia to the east, and Norway to the north, while Estonia lies to its south across the Gulf of Finland. The capital city is Helsinki. Around 5.3 million people reside in Finland and the majority is concentrated in the south.[1]. It is the eighth largest country in Europe in terms of area and the most sparsely populated country in the EU

In 1990s Finnish rock and metal music started to get international fame with such bands as The Bobba Eyes, Amorphis, Children of Bodom, HIM, Lordi, Negative, Nightwish, The Rasmus, Sonata Arctica, and Stratovarius. In 2000s also Finnish rock bands started to sell well internationally. The Rasmus finally captured Europe (and other places, like South America) in 2000s. But so far the most successful Finnish band in the United States is HIM.

Sulake (fuse) is a multi-million dollar multimedia company based in Helsinki, Finland. Sulake's main focus is virtual worlds, casual multiplayer games and social networking. The corporation's CEO is Timo Soininen, also from Finland. Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 EMEA list ranks Sulake as the 12th fastest growing technology company in Europe. Sulake has 18 offices in different countries around the globe, with their headquarters (HQ) in Helsinki, Finland.
