Having the HPV vaccine
It’s best to have the vaccination before you start being sexually active.
Having the vaccine will not protect you against other sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia and will not stop you getting pregnant.
You will need 3 injections over several months to get the best protection. The vaccination is given in your upper arm.
Your school or local NHS will provide more information before your vaccination is due.
