Stargate SG-1

The Ori are ascended being's, just like the Ancients, Ancient's were once highly evolved humans and they ascended to a higher plane of exsistence.

After finally defeating the Goa'uld, the SG-1 have a new enemy to contend with. The Ori.

The orginal Stargate used by SG-1 was found in Giza, thought to be bought to Earth by the Goa'uld Ra. However later a gate was found in the Antarctic which is thought to be the first Stargate on Earth, built by the Ancients.

To conclude this popular sci-fi series two films are being created.

Chaapa'ai Is the name used for the Stargate by the Jaffa and Goa'uld

However unlike the Ancients, the Ori trick people into believing a false religion. Orgin. Via this the Ori grow stronger, just like the Goa'uld they are power hungry.
