this part is for new players, so don't read it if you are quite experienced! to start a game, click the game pad on the tool bar, choose any map, 2 minutes (just to get the feel of it) and wait for players for join your game. start the game when u have enough players (4 should be enough, including yourself) u will have 3 seconds at the start to compose yourself, when the game starts, move as much as possible, (click squares to move) if you fancy throwing a snowball at someone, click on the person, your habbo will automatically throw 1 snowball at the clicked player (make sure not to throw at your own team) they might get annoyed ;) multiple clicks will throw more snowballs. if u find you have ran out of snowballs, see the glove at the bottom of the screen? click that to pick up a snowball, you are vunerable while doing this, so be careful when are where u do it, theres another option to getting snowballs, sometimes, there maybe snow-machines dotted around the map, simply walk onto the "arrow pointer" to auto-pick snowballs... this isn't advised though, as you will become a big target, especially in big games. your first game, well be prepared to lose, but this all comes with experience and knowledge, train with high-class players to improve your skills faster. any questions about the "basics" section should be asked at the end of the forum. thanks.

Ok now, its abit more complex than the basics. This post will still be the basics, but will be at a higher level. About this time you should be thinking what type of style you would like to play in, Short ranged, Long ranged or All-Rounder. And whilst on the topic of Long Ranged, I can't help myself but mention REECEYBABY. He is the best Long-Range player in the UK and perhaps the world. Also Popup06 is Uk's finest in the arts of Short-Ranged.

Middle-Class
Short Ranged - For a short ranged player, you will need alot of accuracy and speed. The very essence of a Short ranged player requires Speed and accuracy. What ever hotel it may be, there is a certain location on the map where you will battle it out for short ranged. And that is at the very bottom of the map on "Arctic Island".
Long Ranged - Be ready if you are going to take on the Role of Long Ranged, you'll need EXTREME accuracy and alot of patience. Long ranged can be played any where, but yet again is better to play on Artic Island due to its open space, yet avaliabe space for cover.
There are two other roles in Snowstorm, but they will be taught at a much higher level. As these roles are very hard to master or come to grips with.

ok, so you now know what discipline you prefer, over the next couple of matches, concentrate on that skill, do not train others or you will lose focus. the next thing to teach you is shifting and alting.
SHIFTING is one of the most useful skills as it lets you place snowballs in front of your opponent, it is so powerful that you can use it to fire through cover and trees. the placement of balls comes in time, so in your next match, try holding shift, and throwing on an empty square (one that looks most likely your opponent will run into) one of the best methods of placement is to place three consecutive balls, one after the other in a pattern like this:
x
OPPONENT x
x
its a lot harder than it looks to do in the heat of battle, but this throw will give you the highest chance of hitting in long range- 65% this seems quite low, but you must take into account your opponents ability to dodge and skill level, he will afterall, be trying to hit you too, which will make your job all the more harder. close range is a different story, you can do as shown above in close range, of course shortening the wideness of your shots, like this: x OPPONENT x x
this sort of shooting will get you into the high nineties percentages of hitting, but you might not have enough snowballs to cover this area, you are also given less time in close range to pick up snowballs.. so this may not be an option, two snowballs would suffice, but this will decrease percentage.
ALTING is also very useful, quicker than shifting, is mainly used for close/ mid range tactics also a good way to counter enemy cover and hiders that like to camp themselves in trees. in your next match, try holding alt, and clicking behind a tree where you think your opponent might be. you should stand about 5-6 squares away while doing this, or your snowball will just bash on the tree, this is better than using :chooser, as you dont have to click a separate box, but :chooser shouldnt be taken out as its important for hitting people that like to hide on the maps edges (its possible on some maps to do this) another thing that can help you/ hinder you is holding shift and clicking on your opponent, can be sometimes done by accident, and is very annoying, but in mid range can be used over small walls, behind cover to surprise and to get a fast shot in. thats alting and shifting covered, but whenever doing shifting, always take your opponents skill into account! he is after you as well. which is why its easy to say snowstorm is an easy game to play, another thing to play it and find out how hard it really is.
